Letterpress title mounted above plates on leaf 52 of Morgan Library's album titled "Oeuvres de Gillot." (PML 198162) reads "Fables d'Oudart de la Motte".
Collection of 113 impressions of prints from a series of 68 engravings issued as headpiece illustrations for the individual chapters in M. de la Motte's "Fables nouvelles" (Paris : Gregoire Dupuis, 1719); with 42 of the individual engravings present in both the finished and etched proof state.
Sheets closely trimmed to or within plate mark.
Forms part of a collection of 586 etchings by and after Claude Gillot, mounted into a bound album by a former owner, with letterpress title page reading "Oeuvres de Gillot." (see PML 198162).
