2012.66
Provenance:
Gift from the artist to his longtime gallerist/friend Peter MacGill and his wife Susan.
Inscription:
Includes unbound note of dedication signed by the artist.
Notes:
Pocket-size snapshot album features photographs in its right-hand sleeves, each of which is the subject of a multiple-choice question inscribed on the facing page. Besides photographs by Frank (color and black-and-white Polaroids), the album includes a family snapshot of the artist as a toddler in Zurich with a German cousin. Frank's questions are characteristically louche and sardonic, whipsawing from ostensibly noble topics (the lights of the international contemporary art world) to ostensibly lesser ones (the frying-fish native to Swiss lakes).
