Manager of Events and Corporate Membership

Responsibilities: 

The Morgan Library & Museum invites applications for the position of Manager of Events and Corporate Membership. Reporting to the Director of Events the Manager of Events and Corporate Membership is a client-facing, vital member of the two-person events team, responsible for managing internal Morgan events as well as rentals and benefit events. Duties include but are not limited to marketing and managing logistics for rentals to external corporations, and other organizations as well as individual donors, maintaining the museum-wide events calendar, and coordinating the use of the Morgan’s spaces for internal meetings and events. The position also oversees the cultivation and stewardship of existing and new corporate members at levels ranging from $5K to $50K. Other responsibilities include creating and sending invitations and acknowledgments for all related gifts and payments. The Manager of Events serves as an ambassador for the Morgan at all times by developing relationships with members, corporations, nonprofits, vendors, and guests, as well as all departments of Morgan staff.

Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor of Arts degree required.
  • 4–6 years of experience in event management desired.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with keen attention to details.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; a self-directed team player.
  • Effective analytical thinker and creative problem-solver.
  • Ability to understand and create budgets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, and Raiser’s Edge NXT
  • Knowledge of local, regional, and international corporations and nonprofit institutions.
  • Knowledgeable of and able to handle the set-up of basic audio/visual equipment.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends to oversee events
  • Ability to stand and ambulate for several hours at a time, as well as moderate lifting and moving of equipment, tables, chairs, podiums, etc.
Compensation: 

$63,000–$75,000, commensurate with experience; excellent benefits.
