This photograph was taken during Collins's 1874 visit to New York.
Photograph is adhered to a black card with "Sarony 680 Broadway" printed at the foot in gold, and with a black ribbon tied in a bow threaded through the upper left corner.
Inscriptions/Markings:
"Wilkie Collins 1874" signed on a slip of paper pasted to the verso of the card. Two unkown hands have added the notes "Novelists Height 5 ft 6 ins" and "American, 1873?" to the same slip of paper.
