The George Richmond watercolor painting on which Jenkins based his engraving was painted in 1832-33, the final years of Wilberforce's life. The original painting is at the National Portrait Gallery, London.

Summary: 

Three-quarter-length portrait of William Wilberforce seated in an armchair facing front with his legs crossed and his head slightly tilted to the left. He holds what may be an eyeglass in his hands, and an open book and a quill pen rest on a table on the left.
