Summary:
Thanking her for sending the two photographs; saying "I like the one of myself very much. But the one of my Wife is really not at all like her and gives quite a false idea of her face. As a small snapshot it would have passed muster, but on the enlarged scale, it is all wrong, and I have torn it up. I wish you would follow my example! - for I should not like this presentment to be seen by anyone;" adding that he hopes she will revisit "...this coast. It would be a very great pleasure to see you again."
