With seal, postmark, and stamps; mailed to Messrs. Scribner & Co. in London.
Date is from postmark.
Signed at the end of the draft of "A Myth" on p. 3.
Part of an album of manuscript poems and letters of nineteenth-century English and American authors collected by Mrs. Annie Fields, author and literary hostess in Boston. Manuscripts in the album are described in individual records; see MA 925 for more information.
The first two pages include a fair copy of "A.D. 1100" (an additional title, "Earl Harold," has been crossed out); the third page, which appears to have been used as a cover page for mailing "A.D. 1100" to Scribner & Co., includes a heavily revised and canceled draft of "A myth."
