Decoration: vinescroll motifs form a rectangular frame around the title page and an oval frame around the dedication; the first letter on each Octonaire is in gold.
Text is written only on the rectos; versos are blank. Texts: 8 blank flyleaves (fols. 1-8); title page (fol. 9); dedication page (fol. 10); Octonaires V-L (fols. 11-56); 4 blank flyleaves (fols. 57-60). Octonaires I-IV have been excised, only the stubs remain. Title page inscribed: Octonaires sur la Vanite et Inconstance du Monde Escrits par Esther Inglis, a Lislebourg, Aoust 1615. Dedication page inscribed: Pour Monsieur Treshonoré Monsieur André Ramsay Fidele Ministre de la parole de Dieu, à Lislebourge, Esther Inglis souhaite tout Bon Heur.
