Made around 1623 for Marie le Grand (inscription on banner surrounding Sacred Heart on title page: Cor mund[m] crea in me Deus et o[m]nia quae intra me sunt benedica[n]t nomini sancto tuo in eternu[m] amen, and below pour Dame Marie le Grand); Bélot Collection(?); purchased by Julia Parker Wightman in 1946; JPW 1760; given in April, 1993.
Notes: 

Ms. processional for Dominican use; written and illuminated in France around 1623.
Decoration: 1 illuminated title page with a Sacred Heart, the monogram of Christ, three nails, and a cross; 4 large and 6 small illuminated initials on squared gold grounds.
Small white label on end pastedown has the following inscription: at upper margin, 3571 written in dark brown ink; below, in lighter brown ink: coll. Bélot (or Bielot), the number 1535 below, and under this 3.96 uom. At upper righthand edge, written on the vertical, what may be c B in stylized letters, in black ink.
