Eustathius of Thrace is a fictitious personage according to the Coptic Encyclopedia (1991).
Written area ca. 281 x 218 mm. Divisions: Leather tab fastened to center of fore-edge of fols. 28, 50 (the rest wanting) indicate major divisions of the codex; ekthesis, slightly enlarged (sometimes greatly enlarged) initial, and often paragraphus sign (zeta-shaped coronis save for 3 budded diples at fol. 17r b) setting off paragraphs; some passages, especially quotations, marked by a small diple in margin of each line. Exceeding letters of last line of rectos of fols. 6, 9, 10, 36, 39, 40, 45, 49 written below end of the line and encompassed by a stroke.
Script: Upright (titles and colophons right-sloping). 10 lines = ca. 94 mm
Superlineation: Non-standard. Punctuation: Cluster of dots in conjunction with a space (often 2 dots at same height with a space in between). Tremas.
Collation: Signed on first and last page of the quire, top inner margin. Quire ornament only on 1r. No monograms, headlines or catchwords.
Michael Archangel is celebrated in the Coptic Church on Hātōr 12, Baʼūna 12, and Abīb 12; the present volume is for Hātōr 12.
Sixty-four leavs are wanting; the Homily on the Mercifulness of God lacks the second half of the text; the following homily lacks its beginning.

Decoration: headpieces, tailpieces, signatures and page numbers, extended letters. Colors: green, red, yellow (all chemically altered).
