Previously French 17th-century black Shagreen, with gold clasps, formed by monogram JCO (De Ricci thought the monogram might be that of Jean Louis Charles d'Orleans, Duc de Longueville, d. 1694), surmounted by a princely crown, in red morocco case; rebound in alum tawed calf by Deborah Evetts, 1997.

Decoration: 19 large miniatures, 35 small miniatures, 12 calendar illustrations.
Artist: Master of the Getty Epistles.
The illustrations are almost identical and by the same workshop as those in a Book of Hours in London, British Library, Add. 35318.
The manuscripts by the Master of the Getty Epistles form a subgroup of Horae produced by the 1520s Hours workshop.
