Hand decoration: Contemporary Venetian illuminated initials, with portrait of Gregory I (leaf [3]/2r) by the Pico Master (active 1465-95; not identified by Armstrong); red initials in register. Annotations: Contemporary marginal notations in Italian and Latin sporadically throughout text, some blotted out. Extenisve pentrials and textual inscriptions on leaf [39]/8 and original vellum endleaf (now front endleaf 6 recto). Manuscript title on fore edge.
