The Morgan Library & Museum is pleased to present Ferdinand Hodler: Drawings— Selections from the Musée Jenisch Vevey, featuring approximately 60 works on paper. On view through October 1, 2023, the exhibition focuses on the role of drawing in Hodler’s practice, from quick compositional sketches to elaborate oil studies. These drawings illuminate the artist’s process, his obsession with accuracy, and his experimentation with imprints, tracing, and collage techniques in a fervent search for rhythm and expression.
