Visitor Policies and Guidelines
- Coat check is closed. All garments, backpacks, briefcases, and bags must remain on your person and cannot be left unattended. Umbrellas must be contained within a plastic bag which we will provide. Luggage, sealed boxes, garment bags, bicycles, skateboards, skates, scooters, plants, flowers, food, and musical instruments may not be brought into the museum.
- Hand sanitizer is available for your use before entry and throughout your visit. You may wash your hands with soap and water at our facilities on the Lower Level.
- Please do not touch the artwork.
- Photography is allowed in certain designated areas of the Morgan (please check with Morgan security or Visitor Services staff).
- While pencils, sketchbooks, and notebooks are allowed, no pens, ink, paints, markers, easels, or stools are permitted. Sitting on the floor while sketching or taking notes is not permitted.
- In consideration of others, we ask that you refrain from using cell phones except in lobby areas.
- There is no lecturing in the galleries except by Morgan Library & Museum staff and docents.

Fees and charges:
A minimum 50% deposit of the total amount due will be required to confirm the reservation. When scheduling a guided tour less than four weeks from the requested date, a $150 tour fee will be due upon receipt of invoice to reserve the date. Payment of all remaining fees and charges are required in full at least fifteen days in advance of the tour. A minimum fee for ten people is required. If your group is less than ten, the fees for ten people will still be charged. Payment may be made with a check to The Morgan Library & Museum or with Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover Card.
Reservation Policies:
Reservations for guided tours must be made at least four weeks in advance. A minimum 50% deposit of the total amount due will be required to confirm the reservation. When scheduling a guided tour four weeks or less from the requested date, a $150 tour fee will be due upon receipt of invoice to reserve the date.
Groups must meet a minimum requirement of ten participants. A maximum number of twenty for a single group will be approved pending on availability.
Changes to itineraries or increase in numbers of participants may not be made within 10 days of the tour date without express permission from the Morgan.
Arrival:
Groups will enter via the main entrance on Madison Avenue – 225 Madison Avenue (between 36 and 37 Streets). Group leaders must check in at the Tickets Desk upon arrival.
Late arrival:
In the event your arrival for a scheduled group tour is delayed, notify us at 212-685-0008, ext. 800, as early as possible. All efforts will be made to adjust your itinerary, although no guarantees can be made. The Morgan Library & Museum reserves the right to cancel any tour for which the group arrives more than 15 minutes after the scheduled time. In such a case no refund will be given, but we can reschedule the tour for a later date (admission fees will be honored by the Morgan, any new Educator fees must be paid by the group).
Cancellation by group:
Should you need to cancel your tour, you must provide a minimum of 72 hours’ advance notification to avoid incurring any cancellation fees by calling 212-685-0008, ext. 560. Tours canceled less than 72 hours in advance may incur a cancellation fee.
Cancellation by the Morgan:
The Morgan Library & Museum reserves the right to cancel any tour with advance notification of at least 30 days. In such case we will endeavor to reschedule the tour. If rescheduling is not possible, all fees and charges will be refunded.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 and other infectious conditions exists in any public space where people are present. Those visiting the Morgan Library & Museum voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, other infectious conditions, and other hazards that may be present in a public space.
