Program for a gala performance at the Bolshoi Theatre, following the coronation of Czar Nicholas II.
The works performed were Glinka's Life for the Tsar (Act I and Epilogue), and The Lovely Pearl, a ballet choreographed by Marius Petipa, with music by Riccardo Drigo.
The singers in the opera included Pavel Koshits, the father of Nina Koshetz; the dancers in the ballet included Matilda Kshesinskaya, Nicholas's mistress before his marriage.
