Contains the first editions of the Prelude and Fugue in C major from Book II of Bach's Well-tempered Clavier, BWV 870 (p. 52-55 of the music examples), and of his Organ Sonata in E-flat major, BWV 525 (p. 58-67 of the music examples). It also contains the first printing of part of the Fugue from the Chromatic fantasy and Fugue, BWV 903 (p. 13 of the music examples). The music examples also include fugues and canons from The Musical Offering, BWV 1079, and Art of Fugue, BWV 1080, parts of other works by Bach, and works (or parts of works) by C.P.E. Bach, Bevin, Dr. Burney, Clementi, Fasch, C.H. Graun, C.C. Hachmeister, Hässler, Handel, Kirnberger, Kollmann, Marpurg, and Stoelzel.
