17th-century Bohemian red leather over 15th-century wooden boards, rebacked; corners with 17th-century silver plaques with figures of the four Evangelists in repoussé, their names in Slavonic letters; silversmith's mark XK on the edges of two corners similar to that of a Prague goldsmith of ca. 1649 (Rosenberg, no. 9334), in center an oval plaque of Christ in Majesty; in brown 1/2 morocco box case; binding perhaps made in Prague.

Johann Czencke (16th-century signature inside upper cover on base of what appears to be drawing of a monstrance, with initial T at its center); what appears to be a list of books is written down lefthand side of inside front cover; library press mark pasted on spine center: MSS Q.1; library shelfmark written inside front cover in dark brown ink: U.IV.44; purchased by J. Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913) from Georges Hoentschel, Mar. 14, 1907; J.P. Morgan (1867-1943).
