Dark red lacquered papier-mache covers with three recessed medallions with paper onlays along vertical axis (large center ogive with embossed flowers in gold and green scalloped border, two small palmettes with embossed heart-shaped devices in green), border of multiple fillets and chain composed of "S" punches, rebacked, tabbed spine.
