Decoration: 2 fully illuminated pages (fols. 1v-2) in red, blue, orange, and gold, framing 8 short lines of text at center. Each subsequent text page is framed in a ruled rectangle close to paper's edge, the text block also framed in black and gold. Decorative motifs in colors and gold are placed at upper outer corners of text. Sūra headings are written in red or gold cartouches in the center of narrow panels running the width of the text block.
Binding: 19th-century lacquer over pasteboard covers, painted with flowers on a red background and framed with narrow borders in black and gold with zig-zag design. Black lacquer doublures, painted with gold leaf and floral work.
