Shooting script of approximately 137 leaves, heavily annotated by James Ivory throughout. Title page includes the address for the London office of Merchant Ivory Productions, a handwritten note below the title "A Conversazione / (without [underlined] conversation)," and James Ivory's mark of ownership. Script is typed on white paper (a combination of A4 and letter size), with printed additions and changes on blue paper affixed to the relevant page. One addition, handwritten in blue ink on stationary from the Hotel Excelsior, Firenze, is inserted and hand-numbered "17", with the following page number changed to "17A." Ivory has written out the cast list on the verso of the title page in a number of different colored inks; his notations are also in red, blue, black and green ink. Script is laid in red wrappers, with upper cover stamped "A Room with a View" and "Studio Duplicating Service, Inc. / 445 W. 44th Street, NYC / LO 3-1225"; elastic "binding."

Each of the thirty-one films he directed for Merchant Ivory Productions is represented in the collection, beginning with the production company's first film, The Householder (1963), and including, among others, The Europeans (1979), Howards End (1992), The Remains of the Day (1993), The Golden Bowl (2000), and The City of Your Final Destination (2010).
