Commemorative 50-franc banknote featuring a portrait of Antoine de Saint-Exupery, an image of the Little Prince, and other figures from his book of the same name, along with images of a Breguet XIV biplane and an airliner Latécoère 25; the note was part of the French Franc banknotes series issued by the Banque de France from 1993 onward and withdrawn from circulation in 2002.
Obverse: Portrait of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, French as well as a depiction of The Little Prince himself. Above the watermark, which is an image of Saint-Exupéry, can be found a drawing of an elephant inside a boa constrictor. In the background, a map of Europe and Africa and flying plane Latécoère 28. Reverse: Breguet 14 biplane over the desert with wild weather in the sky - Saint Exupery's aircraft on his mail rounds over the Sahara desert. Portrait on both sides of the banknote of the Little Prince standing atop his home, Asteroid B-612. Micro printing across the top left of the front of the banknote, reading “Il y avait sur une étoile, une planète, la mienne, la Terre, un petit prince à consoler! Je le pris dans les bras”; with a picture of a ram printed in white ink below the watermark, visible when the note is held under ultra-violet light.
