Title page includes address for Merchant Ivory Productions in New York and extensive notes in James Ivory's hand. Followed by a second typescript (21 pages, stapled) outlining the takes from five days of filming (5-9 March).
Enclosed in a manila file folder labeled variously "Autobiography" and "Shooting Script" and with a note in James Ivory's hand adhered to the exterior: ""Autobiography of a Princess" script 1975."

Part of a collection of film director James Ivory's heavily annotated shooting scripts, editing notebooks, and small scripts. Each of the thirty-one films he directed for Merchant Ivory Productions is represented in the collection, beginning with the production company's first film, The Householder (1963), and including, among others, The Europeans (1979), A Room with A View (1985), Howards End (1992), The Remains of the Day (1993), The Golden Bowl (2000), and The City of Your Final Destination (2010). The collection also includes two films directed by Ivory's partner, Ismail Merchant (In Custody (1994) and The Mystic Masseur (2002)).
