Enclosing a manuscript for his "film-story" entitled "Francesa of Little Italy" and noting that it had been commissioned by Mary Pickford as a vehicle for her but that owing to the recent death of her mother, she is no longer interested in business and "may nor produce a new picture for two years or more"; suggesting that the actress Colleen More might an appropriate choice for the lead in his new story, as she had previously starred in his "Twinkletoes" and the lead character is a "Twinkletoes type"; saying that he has never offered a manuscript to a film company and that he has been warned "that it is dangerous to offer MSS. to film companies, as they are apt to return the MS. and retain the idea".
