This autograph manuscript is a continuation of MA 497.51 which includes a penciled notation at the top of page 1, most likely in the hand of Belle da Costa Greene, with the title "Notes on Chatterton."
Part of a collection of the correspondence of Horace Walpole to various recipients including Henry Seymour Conway, Benjamin Ibbot and Horace Mann and with a small number of miscellaneous writings and copies of the writings of others. Being a continuation of a small essay on Thomas Chatterton's forgeries of poems he claimed were written in the fifteenth-century by Thomas Rowley.
