The cars are models of the 1958 Edsel Corsair. They represent the two models available in the initial year, 1958: two door convertible and 4 door hard top. The two door convertible is rendered in aqua colored polystyrene mounted on a pressed steel undercarriage. The rear axle is fitted with a cog which spins a 3 washer flywheel mounted below the rear seats. Accents, like seat leather, are painted on. The 4 door hard top is gold colored and of similar construction. They are both roughly 8 inches in length.
Received with MA 1909, a group of letters exchanged by Marianne Moore and a representative of the Ford Motor Company concerning the naming of the car that came to be called the Edsel.
