Summary:

Inquiring as to why his name was omitted from the Free List of the Drury Lane Theatre; saying "Considering myself - as an author - entitled to the free List of D.L. Theatre - and having hitherto always had my name inserted - I presume it has been omitted this Season thro' some mistake - Should any renew'd application be necessary, on my part, I will thank you to make it for me, in the proper Quarter, and to inform me when you have done so that I may not subject myself to any unpleasant communication with the Free List Book keeper at the Theatre - I considered the enclosed from you as a general notice - not having received it annually but always having had my name on the List. I am aware that an authors Free entrance to Theatre is complimentary - at the same time it is so well established - that I am sure in my Case it will not be withheld."
