A notation under this letter cites "Besterman 3695 to Pierre de Morand" however it appears more likely it was the surgeon Sauveur-Francois Morand as Voltaire specifically refers to his being a healer of disease.

Concerning the betrayal of Voltaire by Baculard d'Arnaud in his letter to Elie Catherine Fréron which was distributed in Paris; relating his relationship to d'Arnaud and d'Arnaud's relationship to the King; saying he has not read a single one of the misérables brochures" with which he has heard Paris is flooded.
