19th-century French blind- and gilt-tooled red straight-grained morocco (in the style of Roger Payne or Bozerian) over paper boards (29 x 21 cm.), sewn on 5 supports. Marbled paper pastedowns and fly leaves, with plain paper fly leaves; decorative endbands; gilt edges.
Inscriptions/Markings: 

Hand decoration: Illuminated initial and foliate border, with bust of Petrarch in laurel wreath at bottom, probably modern/19th century (leaf [2]/1r). Annotations: No marginal notations in text.
