Contemporary blind-stamped calf over wooden boards (31.5 x 21 cm.), sewn on 3 supports by Ambrosius Keller in Augsburg (EBDB w0000325/Kyriss 49). Contemporary plain paper pastedowns (leaves [2]/1 and [18]/8 used as front and rear pastedowns); plain, unwrapped endbands. 1 clasp, wanting; 4 corner and 1 central bosses on each board, floral-shaped flange with domed center. Paper title label on front board.

Inscriptions/Markings:

Hand decoration: Rubricated, red, green, and pink lombards with filigree penwork decoration, red capital strokes and paragraph marks; illuminated initial with marginal foliate decoration and byzants, in Augsburg style (leaf [2]/2r). Manuscript title (leaf [2]/2r and texts numbered with roman numerals. Red rubrication perhaps by Schenck. Annotations: Some corrections to text and marginal notations throughout. Alpha-numeric manuscript quire signatures, mostly trimmed.

Conrad Schenck, signature (leaves [2]/2r, [18]/7v, and [18]/8r; perhaps Konrad Schenk von Schenkenstein, canon at Augsburg cathedral, d. 1475; see also, Caspar Schenk of Regensburg inscription in BSB-Ink N-177, copy 2) and inscriptions: "Conrat schenk [?] erchtag [???]" and in another hand: "Schadt an [???]" (leaf [18]/8r = rear pastedown); unidentified shelf mark: 29, in thick black circle (3 cm.), also graphite "G 29" in circle (leaves [1]/1v and [2]/2r) and paper shelf mark label with oblong octagonal gold filigree frame on spine: 29; inscription, abraded, 1872 (leaf [2]/2r); Pierpont Morgan Library, purchased as the gift of Curt F.
