20th-century (after Murray sale) black, hard-grained morocco over bevelled wooden boards (37 x 26 cm.), sewn on 5 supports for Morgan. Modern plain paper pastedowns and fly leaves, with original vellum fly leaves from a 15th-century missal; decorative endbands.

Hand decoration: Bohemian illumination, foliate borders (leaves [2]/2r and [15]/2r), initials, and Crucifixion scene with Saint James the Less and a Benedictine monk below image (leaf [15]/1v); rubricated initials in alternating red and blue. Underdrawing visible in many places. Music added by hand on 4-line staves in black Holznagelschrift. Annotations: Alpha-numeric manuscript quire signatures, mostly trimmed. Contemporary liturgical texts added to blank leaves ([14]/10, [15]/9v, [27]/8r and rear fly verso).
