Within a landscape, an executioner holds the head of a martyr, who is blindfolded and partially nude. The executioner raises a sword held in his right hand. The bodies of two martyrs, both beheaded, are on the ground beside the first martyr. Three men, including a horseman, look on. Beyond at the bottom of a hill, two tormentors raise scourges against two martyrs, who are partially nude and bound to a pole. A third tormentor kneels on the ground making a scourge by tying twigs together. On top of the hill, an executioner grasps the left arm of a partially nude martyr. Two executioners push two nude martyrs off the hill with pitchforks. At the bottom of the hill, three martyrs are impaled on trees. To the right of the hill, a group of figures, including soldiers and horsemen, stand below seven crucified martyrs affixed to tau crosses. All the martyrs are nimbed.

Among a group of confessors are: Gregory the Great, wearing a cross-surmounted. triple-crowned tiara and vestments inscribed with pseudo-inscriptions, raising his gloved right hand in a blessing and holding a papal cross in left hand; Jerome, wearing a cardinal's hat and vestments; Anthony of Padua, wearing a Franciscan habit, supporting himself with staff held in his right hand, and holding an open book and a bell in his left hand; two monks, one wearing a black habit and the other a white habit; and Augustine of Hippo, wearing a bishop's miter and vestment, raising his right hand in a blessing, and holding a crozier in his left hand. All figures are nimbed.
The scene is framed by an illusionistic wood frame. In the lower border inscribed in display script is DEVS OVI OM(NIA) SANTORVM (sic) CONFESSORVM.

Ursula of Cologne: Massacre of Ursula and virgins—A soldier loads an arrow in a crossbow. Flanking him, two soldiers aim bows and arrows at a crowned Ursula, who is glancing upward, and several virgins, many of whom are pierced by arrows and dead. They are within a ship, along with Pope Cyricus, wearing a triple-crowned tiara, a woman wearing a headdress (Gerasina of Sicily?), and two men, one of whom is falling over the side of the boat. All the figures within the ship are nimbed. In the background on shore, men aim bows and arrows at two more ships carrying nimbed virgins. In the distance are buildings of a city within a landscape.
