Description:
The initial I that begins the Gospel Sequence of John is decorated with foliate ornament.
Within a historiated border framing the text, a horseman with a dagger carried in his belt rides along a road toward a woman standing in the road. Figures are within the landscape, and buildings of a city are seen in the distance.
