Planned Giving at The Morgan Library & Museum

The 1924 Society recognizes and honors friends and members who have made a commitment to the future of the Morgan Library & Museum by including the Morgan in their estate plans. The society is named for the year the Morgan was established as a public institution. After Pierpont Morgan's death, his son J. P. Morgan, Jr. believed that the library had become too important to remain in private hands. In one of the most momentous cultural gifts in U.S. history, in 1924 he fulfilled his father's dream of making the library and its treasures available to scholars and the public alike.

You can become a Society member by

  • Making a gift to the Morgan in your will or trust;
  • Naming the Morgan as a beneficiary of a retirement plan or life insurance policy;
  • Participating in a life income arrangement, such as a charitable remainder trust, for the benefit of the Morgan;
  • Creating a lead trust for the benefit of the Morgan;
  • Promising a collection gift that the Morgan has agreed to accept.

As a member you will

  • Receive an invitation to the annual Society event, celebrating your commitment to the Morgan;
  • Be listed in the Morgan's Annual Report to Donors (with your permission).

We hope that you will become a member of The 1924 Society. Please contact us via e-mail (1924society@themorgan.org) or telephone (212.590.0335) for more information or with questions. Your inquiry is confidential and places you under no obligation.
