The drawing forms a pendant with an oval portrait drawing of a man, also signed and dated 1654, in the Kupferstichkabinett, Berlin (Inv. no. 5674).

Inscription: 

Signed and dated, in brown ink, at lower left, "Johannes Thopas"; and at lower right, "Fecit 1654". Inscribed on the verso, in graphite, at lower center, "22"; at lower right, "fr 50-".
