JOHN MILTON'S PARADISE LOST AT THE MORGAN LIBRARY & MUSEUM

To celebrate the four-hundredth anniversary of the birth of the English poet John Milton (1608–1674), The Morgan Library & Museum presents the only surviving manuscript of Milton's masterpiece Paradise Lost, Book 1 from October 7, 2008, through January 4, 2009 in the Clare Eddy Thaw Gallery.

LISZT IN PARIS: ENDURING ENCOUNTERS AT THE MORGAN LIBRARY & MUSEUM

Through nearly fifty manuscripts, first editions, letters, and related materials drawn almost entirely from the collections of The Morgan Library & Museum, the new exhibition Liszt in Paris: Enduring Encounters celebrates the art and the diverse and fertile artistic world of the virtuoso pianist-composer.
The exhibition is on view in The Engelhard Gallery at the Morgan from August 29 through November 16, 2008.

THE MORGAN LIBRARY & MUSEUM TO EXHIBIT NEWLY ACQUIRED PRAYER BOOK MADE FOR QUEEN CLAUDE DE FRANCE (PDF)

The Morgan Library & Museum will put on special exhibition beginning May 20 an extremely rare Renaissance illuminated manuscript, the Prayer Book of Queen Claude de France (1499–1524), created around the time of her coronation in 1517.
